PetCure Oncology at VRIC Applauds the Veterinary Technician Community During National Veterinary Technician Week
Clifton, NJ – October 13, 2015 – PetCure Oncology at Veterinary Radiosurgery & Imaging Center (VRIC) recognizes the special contributions made by veterinary technicians on a daily basis. These exceptional individuals play a significant role in the health and well-being of pets, ensuring compassionate and attentive care. National Veterinary Technician Week (October 11-17, 2015) provides the perfect opportunity to acknowledge these everyday heroes.
The dedicated technician team at VRIC includes Susan Stroligo, CVT, BS, Crystal Contaldi, and Austin O’Connell, BS. Together, this incredible group has more than 30 years of experience in service to companion animals.
Susan Stroligo puts those years of experience into perceptive when describing her role. She shared, “While it can be emotionally draining at times, the overall experience of helping animals and their owners is very rewarding. It’s a wonderful feeling when a patient that was treated in our center comes back for a visit as a healthy and happy pet. When an owner hugs me and says thank you, it makes it all worthwhile.”
Veterinary technicians, similar to nurses in human healthcare, play a vital role in the care of patients. A career as a veterinary technician can be extremely fulfilling and there is an ongoing need for qualified and passionate professionals.
“Dedication, resilience, and empathy are important qualities to have,” said Crystal Contaldi. “It’s going above and beyond to help pets and their owners.”
VRIC, located at 1071 Paulison Avenue in Clifton, NJ, joined PetCure Oncology’s growing network of veterinary cancer centers in September 2015. In addition to providing radiation therapy and advanced imaging services, they were one of the first locations in the nation to offer stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), designed with the intent to cure cancer with fewer treatments and less side effects than conventional radiation therapy.
