Radiation Oncologist – Multiple Positions

This position requires a board-certified radiation oncologist, or a radiation oncology resident on track to complete the board certification process, for a specialty veterinary practice expanding its existing oncology service to include radiation therapy and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS). The primary roles of the radiation oncologist are to oversee all clinical care within the radiation oncology department at their local hospital, act as PetCure Oncology’s lead clinician within the regional veterinary community, and actively participate in national company-wide initiatives.

Veterinarian – Clifton, NJ

This position requires a New Jersey licensed DVM with 3-5 years of experience, preferably some exposure to oncology or the desire to develop more knowledge in treating cancer for pets. The primary role of the veterinarian is to oversee all clinical care within the department and act as PetCure Oncology’s lead clinician within the practice. The hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:30 pm.

Practice Director – Milwaukee, WI

The Practice Director’s role is to oversee and manage all aspects of a regional PetCure Oncology center. This includes management of site-level employees and operations, liaising between the center and the corporate office, active business development, and general center growth. The right candidate will have industry experience in both management and sales with a keen understanding of client service, employee engagement, data analytics, and financial performance.

Radiation Therapist – Relief

This position requires a licensed radiation therapist (RT). The primary role of the RT is to administer radiation treatments, including stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), to canine and feline patients under the supervision of a board-certified veterinary radiation oncologist. Additional responsibilities include compassionate patient care, anesthesia induction and monitoring, excellent client care, and a high level of communication and teamwork.

Ideal candidates have:

  • A minimum of three years as a staff radiation therapist delivering RT in human or veterinary medicine. NOTE: Veterinary experience IS NOT required for this position. Employee will receive on-the-job training specific to veterinary patients.
  • Successful completion of an associate’s or bachelor’s degree program in radiation therapy or a radiography program, plus a 12-month certificate program in radiation therapy.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or possession of a valid Radiation Therapy Technician state license
  • Experience delivering stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) with a RapidArc-capable linear accelerator and on-board CBCT on Varian equipment
  • Experience with Eclipse planning systems
  • High degree of computer proficiency
  • Exceptional communications skills, both verbal and written
  • The ability to multi-task and adjust in a fast-pace environment
  • Great energy. We need TEAM players with great communication skills.
  • Willingness to gain proficiency in basic veterinary procedures including patient restraint and recovery

Work hours will be Monday-Friday. Daytime hours – no nights. Positions available at all seven PetCure Oncology locations.
