PetCure Oncology & South Carolina Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Care Will Discontinue Radiation Treatment in Columbia, SC
Chicago, IL – August 28, 2018 – PetCure Oncology and South Carolina Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Care (SCVSEC) will discontinue their veterinary radiation therapy program, effective September 2018. The partnership, which established the first clinic to feature stereotactic radiation (SRS/SRT) in Columbia, South Carolina, was first announced in November 2017.
“It is with a heavy heart that we will no longer be offering radiation therapy to the Midlands and surrounding communities,” comments Gretchen Sauer, Hospital Administrator of SCVSEC. “This program has been a 6-year endeavor of this hospital and it is a loss for our patients and clients as well as the community at large.”

During this transition, ongoing patient support for all previous PetCure Oncology patients will continue through Dr. Kelsey Pohlmann and the PetCure Oncology corporate team. SCVSEC will continue to provide follow-up appointments and provide PetCure Oncology with imaging studies and medical information to further build veterinary radiation oncology research efforts.
