PetCure Oncology, SCVSEC Brings Advanced Cancer Treatment To Pets
Columbia, SC – November 13, 2017 – PetCure Oncology at South Carolina Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Care (SCVSEC) is officially open and accepting patients, marking the arrival of a new, potentially life-saving cancer treatment for pets in and around South Carolina.
This advanced form of radiation therapy, or stereotactic radiation (SRS/SRT), has been a standard of care in human medicine but is now available in veterinary medicine. PetCure Oncology at SCVSEC is the eighth center in PetCure’s network and is one of less than 20 specialty centers across the country that have the technology and clinical expertise to provide SRS/SRT for pets.

The care team is led by PetCure Oncology Chief Medical Officer Dr. Neal Mauldin, a triple-board certified specialist and a leading expert in veterinary radiation oncology, as well as Dr. Sara Fritz and Dr. Becky Brown, SCVSEC’s medical oncologists. The clinical team at SCVSEC is also supported by the PetCure Radiation Oncology Specialists (PROS) team of board-certified radiation oncologists.
